Most kids are surprised to find that Tanya “a girl,” (as they put it) is the strongest chess player among our staff. No one, and I mean no one, save perhaps Sergey or Gregory (with the help of a few well-timed distractions) can come close to beating her on the chessboard. Tanya has checkmated some of the world’s best players. Men may possess a physical advantage, but that bears no comparison to Tanya's Titanic Tarrasch-like power and tremendous chess playing ability.
As a strong, gifted female counselor, we hope that Tanya serves to inspire our younger female campers to feel confident and capable of accomplishing anything they set out to do.
